Featuring Marina, a world-class award winning concert pianist and musical superstar in Central and Eastern Europe, the West Point Band and the Cadet Glee Club will present a musical celebration of America's strength through its unity and liberty on Thursday, September 25th at 7:30 p.m.

Entitled “Unity through Diversity,” the program will contain a mixture of well known patriotic songs such as "America the Beautiful" and Sousa's "Stars & Stripes" and popular virtuoso classical and contemporary favorites such as Gershwin's "Rhapsody in Blue" and Queen's "Bohemian Rhapsody." In addition, Marina's unique compositions will be sure to uplift both the “mind and the soul.” Much of the program features the work of West Point Band Staff Arranger Master Sgt. Douglas Richard.

Filmed live at West Point's 4400-seat Eisenhower Hall Theatre for national broadcast by Public Television (PBS), the concert will be produced and directed by twelve-time Emmy Award Winner George Veras. Mr. Veras' has produced and directed the highly popular YANNI PBS Concert Programs (Yanni: Live at the Acropolis, Live at theTaj Mahal, Live at the Forbidden City, Live at Royal Albert Hall). Sound direction will be provided by nineteen-time Emmy Award Winner Ed Greene, who has worked on projects such as American Idol, West Wing, ER, the Academy Awards, the Grammy Awards, the Tony Awards, the Kennedy Center Honors, Summer/Winter Olympics, and concert specials with Frank Sinatra, Barbra Streisand, Neil Diamond and Bette Midler.

The performance will feature music from the West Point Band's recent recording session with Marina. Also entitled, "Unity Through Diversity," the recording will be made available in early 2009 as a twin CD presented with a commemorative book. The recordings are produced by multiple Grammy Award Winner Gregg Squires. Both the CD and DVD are expected to be available in March 2009.

While the concert is free and open to the public, tickets are required. To request, please visit www.marinaatwestpoint.com .
