On May 5, 2012, Uncle Sam’s All American Brass Band gave a featured performance at the Eastern Army Kid’s Day at Camp Asaka, Japan. Uncle Sam’s is quickly earning a reputation for their energetic and engaging performances, and this concert will certainly add to that momentum. Audience members reacted from the first note to the enthusiasm this group brings, and did not stop clapping until the set ended 45 minutes later. Although exhausted, band members still found the fuel for two encores and photos with the audience. After their final curtain call, Uncle Sam’s All American Brass Band returned to Camp Zama physically drained but emotionally uplifted from a great performance and cultural outreach. Thank you to the Japanese Ground Self Defense Force for inviting us to participate!
