Organized and Federally recognized 3 Jun 1916 in the Indiana National Guard as Headquarters Company, 3d Battalion, 2d Infantry, at Indianapolis.

Mustered into Federal service 28 Jun-9 Jul 1916 for Mexican Border service; mustered out 21-26 Feb 1917.

Called into Federal service 25 Mar 1917; Drafted 5 AUG 1917.

Redesignated 1 Oct 1917 as Headquarters Company, 3d Battalion, 152d Infantry, an element of the 38th Division.

Demoblized 8 Mar 1919 at Camp Taylor, Kentucky.

Reorganized and Federally recognized 22 Sept 1921 at Indianapolis.

Redesignated 1 Jan 1922 as Headquarters Company, 1st Battalion, 151st Infantry.

Reorganized and redesignated 20 Mar 1934 as Headquarters Company, 151st Infantry.

Inducted into Federal service 17 Jan 1941 at Indianapolis.

(38th Division redesignated 10 Feb 1942 as 38th Infantry Division)

Inactivated 9 Nov 1945 at Camp Anza, California.

Reorganized and Federally recognized 29 Jul 1947 at Indianapolis.

Expanded, reorganized, and consolidated 1 Feb 1959 with 38th Infantry Division Band (Munice) (See ANNEX 1), and consolidated unit designated as Headquarters and Headquarters Detachment, 38th Infantry Division Trains and Band.

Reorganized and redesignated 1 Mar 1963 as Headquarters. Headquarters and Band, 38th Infantry Division Support Command.

ANNEX 1

Constituted 20 Sept 1943 as Band, 38th Infantry Division, allotted to Indiana National Guard, and assigned to the 38th Infantry Division.

Activated 24 Sept 1943 at Camp Livingston, Louisiana, by transfer or personnel from Band, 151st Infantry, and Band, 38th Division Artillery, both then in active Federal service.

Redesignated 1 Dec 1943 as 38th Infantry Division Band.

Consolidated 25 Aug 1945 with Band, 151st Infantry (See ANNEX 2).

Inactivated 9 Nov 1945 at Camp Anza, California.

Reorganized and Federally recognized 29 Setp 1947 at Muncie.

ANNEX 2

Organized and Federally recognized 5 Feb 1930 in the Indiana National Guard as Band Sections, Service Company, 151st Infantry, at Shelbyville.

Disbanded 21 Oct 1931.

Reorganized and Federally recognized 27 Oct 1931 as Band Section, Service Company, 151st Infantry, at Shelbyville.

Reorganized and redesignated in 1940 as Band, 151st Infantry.

Inducted into Federal service 17 Jan 1941 at Indianapolis.

Disbanded 24 Sept 1943 at Camp Livingston, Louisiana (Personnel transferred to Band, 38th Infatnry Division).

Reconstituted 25 Aug 1945

ANNEX 3

Organized and Federally recognized 1 Jul 1924 in the Indiana National Guard as Band Section, Service Battery, 139th Field Artillery, at Crawfordsville.

Disbanded 31 Mar 1936.

Reorganized and Federally recognized 1 Apr 1936 as Band Section, Service Battery, 139th Field Artillery.

Reorganized and redesignated in 1940 as Band, 139th Field Artillery.

Inducted into Federal service 17 Jan 1941 at Crawfordsville

Redesignated 10 Feb 1942 as Band, 38th Division Artillery
