COB Hopping w/ the 3rd Inf Div Band; The History of the Marne Band during Operation Iraqi Freedom (OIF) 5

The 3rd Infantry Division Band deployed to Camp Victory in central Iraq for 15 months beginning April 2007, during which they played over 470 performances. They demonstrated a high level of professionalism and flexibility by forming several musical groups, with many people performing in more than one, including such groups as: the rock band "The Surge," the brass band "Night Shift" the trombone quartet "Desert Bones," the latin band "Latin Fire," and the rhythm and blues band "Premium Blend." These groups performed all around central Iraq, including taking helicopter flights and ground convoys to local Forward Operating Bases (FOBs) to lift the spirits of the troops of Task Force Marne who worked hard to create one of the most successful deployments of the Iraq war.
