Always looking for new ways to use the talents available to entertain audiences, the US Army Europe Band and Chorus recently organized a new “unplugged” popular music group. This new acoustic group consists of vocals, acoustic guitar, acoustic bass, dobro, and hand percussion. The group takes old favorites like, “Tears in Heaven” (Eric Clapton), “What’s Going On” (4 Non Blondes), and “Blame it on your Heart” (Patty Loveless), and is able to perform them in small, intimate settings.

The group has already performed for the USAREUR command group at several functions and was very well received. “Taking away the amplifiers and microphones seems to make the experience a more personal one and connect to the audience on a closer level”, said the group’s leader, SSG Weick.
