USAREUR Band Performs the US National Anthem at World Bowl XV in Frankfurt, Germany
On June 23, 2007 the US Army Europe Band and Chorus provided entertainment for almost 50,000 football fans in Frankfurt, Germany’s Commerzbank Arena for World Bowl XV-the championship game of NFL Europa. Before kick-off, the Band performed the national anthems of Germany and the United States. Staff Sergeant Linda Wolfe, a member of the Soldiers’ Chorus, was the band’s featured vocal soloist. During halftime, the marching band and Soldiers’ Chorus performed together on the field. Their high-energy show included “Malagueña,” “YMCA,” and selections from the movie, “The Blues Brothers” and was conducted by the band’s commander, Major Andrew J. Esch.

As part of the event, Band and Chorus members also enjoyed a performance by rock star Meatloaf, and an exciting football game in which the Hamburg Sea Devils defeated the Frankfurt Galaxy 37-28. Members of the Band and Chorus were excited to be a part of such a large event and to enjoy an American football game in Germany.
